There’s a lot of talk about how we are losing many of our young folks; how they are leaving the church and not remaining faithful to God, and I don’t doubt it. While I don’t believe this exodus from the Lord’s body is happening in droves, if it’s only one soul that has walked away, it’s one too many. Jesus left the ninety and nine to go after that one that was lost. (Matthew 18:12-13). That’s because He loves each of His lambs so much. We should do the same. But as the old folks would say, “An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” We need to do our best to recognize the warning signs that precede this falling away.
While our children will grow up and make decisions on their own at some point, we need to do all we can to strengthen them while we have them with us.
Every parent should ask themselves, “Is it possible that our time is so consumed with sports, and entertainment and “busy” activities that we aren’t taking any time for God? What about Bible study, and activities designed by local congregations that draw our children together; that help the cultivate Godly relationships?” Maybe we need to ask ourselves if our children are spending too much time growing up in the WORLD rather than .......
