Just as surely as evil can permeate the hearts of mankind and spread, love can do the exact same thing. Love grows in a fertile and receptive heart and environment. It spreads outward enveloping all who come in contact with it, wrapping itself about those who will allow it to comfort them.
The Christian understands that love will overcome evil when given the opportunity and space to do so. But remember, Love (Charity) is Patient. (1 Corinthians 1:4). It must have that time and opportunity to root, to grow....and sometimes, just like our many beautiful flowers, it grows in different seasons of life and at different rates. Some love grows slowly and some takes off quickly. Patience, endurance and kindness are a few of the great qualities of love.
The greatest demonstration of love is seen in our God’s sacrifice of His Only Begotten (John 3:16), and our Lord, Jesus’ willingness to die for our sins Hebrews 4:8).
We need to be willing to demonstrate that same kindness, patience, endurance and love to others as we teach that saving gospel to others.
