God sent Christ to bring salvation to a lost and dying world.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
(John 3:16-27). Mission accomplished.
Christ sent the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) as He promised, to deliver the Word of God to His disciples that they might continue to spread that saving gospel, and record it for all of mankind for all time, so that mankind would have opportunity to live eternally with God.
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.” (John 14:16)
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” (John 16:7)
The Holy Spirit brought that Word that would save all obedient souls leaving us us with a Mission from the Godhead three.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Let’s make sure that we are fulfilling OUR Mission!
