In His Image
I have no idea how many times I have said, “Oh! Your child looks just like her daddy,” to someone. I remember hearing my grandma say “She’s the spittin’ image of her daddy!” That often brings a smile to the parent’s face and they feel pleased. I imagine we’ve all said this to someone at some time. We look for the similarities between parents and their offspring. We can see the resemblances....maybe physically, but often it’s the mannerisms, the behaviors, perhaps the way they walk or carry themselves, or the smile.
I know that we were created by God with an eternal soul (just like God) that will enable us to live forever after this life on earth has ended. That makes us very special, unlike all the animals He made. But I often wonder how people....maybe even complete strangers, look at us “externally,” as Christians, observe our behaviors, and walk away saying, “They look just like their Father.” I pray that it’s often. ❤️
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
