Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophet (Mt 7:12 NKJV). How would you feel if God only treated you, like you treat Him?
The Silent Treatment
The silent treatment is simple. You do not talk to someone and try to avoid them. Do you do this to God? Answer these questions honestly. Do you pray? How often do you pray? Do you pray only in certain situations? Prayer is the Christians way of communicating with God. So, when you are not praying to God, you are not communicating with Him. When you are not communicating, there is silence. Are you giving God the silent treatment? What if He did the same to you? What if God did not answer your prayers or did not pay attention to them at all?
Loyalty is defined as unswerving allegiance (Merriam-Webster). We can use the word loyalty the same way we use the term faithfulness. How loyal are you to God? Are you loyal some of the time? Are you loyal to Him only a few days a week? Do you correct yourself if you are not being loyal to Him? What if God was as loyal to you as you are to Him? Would you be satisfied? No? Why not? We expect God to be loyal. But, are you loyal to Him?
What’s your point?
The Christian can rest assured God loves you and treats you far better than you deserve. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17 NKJV).
However, are you giving God your best? God deserves our best. This much is clear. Some often make excuses for their shortcomings instead of changing. No one wants to be mistreated including God.
Something to think about!
